Dear Friend,

Accent is excited to be taking the next step toward establishing a subscription chamber music series in Reno, Nevada. The large number in attendance at Accent's February premiere recital assured us that our efforts to establish a subscription chamber series in northern Nevada would be well-met. This series will be a wonderful addition to the education outreach and collaborative efforts Accent has already been engaging in over the last year.

We are in the process of planning our next recital. New York-based violinist Yuki Numata to join Reno Philharmonic Concertmaster Ruth Lenz, and Reno Philharmonic members Dustin Budish and Eileen Brownell on Thursday, May 27 for a program of string quartet music. We are very excited to perform with such a high-caliber musician and are positive that the results will be of the highest quality.

Accent aims to coordinate at least four or five recitals per year in the Reno/Sparks community. Our mission is to assemble programs of varied repertoire and ensembles, incorporating the finest local musicians and also occasionally importing talented individuals from communities outside of our own. We need the support of our community to make this happen. The costs of travel, rental of venues, the commissioning of new pieces, and the compensation of our artists add up quickly, and while it is less costly to organize a chamber performance than a larger-scale orchestral production, the fees still exceed what we might be able to collect in ticket sales alone. By making sure we can compensate our artists well, we can, in turn, produce the highest level of performance for our audiences.

Your support is invaluable to us. Without your help, our opportunities to realize our goals disappear. It is our hope that, through this series, we might be able to assemble programs that are novel, enriching, and scintillating for our audiences, regardless of age. Our donors will receive formal recognition in the programs, preferred seating, discounted ticket prices, and, in special cases, performance at an event free of charge.
